— PROJECT NAME
Inaugural Seminario Institute
The classical music sector has historically been viewed as predominantly Euro-American, creating significant barriers to entry and visibility for artists of color. There was a critical lack of “high-trust” spaces where pre-professional musicians could explore the intersections of identity, artistry, and racial equity without compromising their career trajectories.
The Solution
I operationalized the vision for the Inaugural Seminario Institute, serving as the bridge between artistic vision and logistical reality.
- Operations & Logistics: I managed the end-to-end experience for 15 musicians traveling from across the U.S.handling venue bookings, complex travel arrangements, and contracts and local youth program participation coordination.
- Production & Finance: I oversaw the production budget and fundraising efforts, while managing the technical requirements for the concluding concert at Tateuchi Hall.
- Strategic Communications: Developed the PR and outreach strategy to ensure the event didn’t just happen, but was seen by the public.
The Impact
The event successfully created a new platform for diverse sounds in classical music. By handling the operational weight, I allowed these artists to focus purely on their craft. The institute provided a tangible career boost for the next generation of players and exposed the public to a necessary evolution in the genre.
